Surgical Oncology

The Surgical Oncology Department delivers specialised cancer surgery for solid tumours across multiple organ systems. Our surgeons perform procedures for breast, gastrointestinal, head and neck, urological, gynaecological and soft-tissue cancers following national oncology guidelines.

Multidisciplinary tumour board discussions guide treatment planning, combining surgery with chemotherapy and radiotherapy referrals when appropriate. Pre-operative staging using CT, MRI and PET scans helps determine the most effective surgical approach.

Radical yet organ-preserving techniques are prioritised wherever oncologically safe. Lymph node dissection, reconstruction and palliative surgical procedures are performed to control disease and improve quality of life.

Post-operative wound care, pain management, nutrition support and early mobilisation accelerate recovery. Histopathology correlation and long-term surveillance schedules are explained clearly to patients and families.
